Following the information disclosed by The Team, Paris Saint-Germain decided on a possible request to postpone the meeting against RC Strasbourg, counting for the 32nd day of Ligue 1. The Parisian team, freshly qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League after overcoming the obstacle of Aston Villa, is now facing a new English challenge: Arsenal, a club against which she had already competed during the group phase, bowing against the Gunners (2-0) on October 1st. This advance in the semifinals is in addition to the qualifying for the finals of the Coupe de France against Stade de Reims (24 May), thus increasing the burden of matches for Parisian players at the end of the season.
Aware of the constraints of an overcrowded calendar, the Parisian club had previously requested the postponement of the match against FC Nantes, inserted between the two confrontations with Aston Villa. A similar question arose then for the meeting against the RC Strasbourg, scheduled between the two appointments with Arsenal. However, the PSG finally decided not to make a new request to the LFP, a decision influenced by the schedule established by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
The UEFA has set the match go on Tuesday 29 April and the return on Wednesday 7 May, thus offering to the Luis team Enrique a rest period of eight days, compared to six in the previous round. This interval considered sufficient avoids a further request for postponement. It now remains to wait for the official announcement of the date of the match PSG – RC Strasbourg (J32 Ligue 1), which has not yet been communicated.
