For several months now, the future of the future stadium of Paris Saint-Germain has brought a lot of ink to France. An announcement on the subject is expected in the next few hours. For weeks now, the future of the capital’s club has generated many discussions across the country. For many PSG supporters, Parc des Princes will forever remain the club’s iconic stadium. However, it seems that the future of Paris Saint-Germain is far from this mythical stadium.
Indeed, the Parisian leaders have the ambition to become owners of their enclosure, a project that does not please the city hall of Paris. The latter refused to sell the Parc des Princes, which ended the discussions between the two parties. There are rumours that the future PSG stadium could even be located outside the capital.
According to Jรฉrรดme Rothen, in his program “Rothen s’enflame” on RMC, Massy would currently hold the rope to host the future Parisian stadium: “Massy’s site has regained weight in recent days. There are also two other sites competing. Massy is a little ahead but the other two are not abandoned. One is located near the Campus of the PSG, towards Poissy. The other one is Montigny-le-Bretonneux.”
According to the AFP’s latest information, Paris Saint-Germain is expected to formalize in the next few days the names of the three remaining sites to host its future stadium. This announcement will mark a decisive turning point in the club’s project of independence from the Paris city hall.
So it seems that the Princes Park era is coming to an end. Now it remains to be seen which sites will be selected and, above all, how the supporters will react to this historic decision.
