The Kop of the Racing Club in Strasbourg showed its support last Saturday during the match between the Strasbourgs and Saint-Étienne (final score 3-1) to the two main ultras of the Greens, the Magic Fans and the Green Angels. They face a threat of dissolution by the government as part of a project to combat violence around football stadiums. The meeting at the Meinau stadium allowed the Racing Club in Strasbourg to maintain its chances in the race for Europe, but it was also an opportunity for the ultras of Strasbourg to show their solidarity with the two groups of Stéphanois supporters threatened.
A banner deployed by the CBCN Kop during the second period had a clear message: “The Chaudron does not dissolve.” This threat of dissolution concerns the two main groups of supporters of AS Saint-Étienne, which together manage more than 15,000 members of the southern and northern Kops of the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium. The dissolution is no longer on the agenda for the moment, after the ultras of Magic Fans and Green Angels presented themselves in early April before the National Advisory Commission for the Prevention of Violence at Sports Events, at the Ministry of the Interior. They obtained a stay of this measure.
