OM: The Champions League race is intensifying

Four days before the end of the League 1 championship, Opta’s artificial intelligence continues to update its forecast for the final ranking. The Olympique de Marseille (OM) is well positioned for the Champions League, but competition remains fierce. The final sprint is launched and OM seems to have found its second breath at the best moment. Thanks to his victory on the 30th day, the Phocรฉan club took second place in the standings (55 points), ahead of Monaco, Lille and Lyon. However, according to the latest projections of artificial intelligence developed by Opta, nothing is yet played for the race to Europe.

Every Monday, Opta publishes its predictive ranking based on the dynamics of each team, and this week, the numbers give OM a glimmer of hope. The AI now grants the Olympians 27.7% chance to finish third, synonymous with direct qualifying in the Champions League. A significant increase, although competition remains formidable.

The main predictive ranking figures are as follows:

  • 2nd - AS Monaco: 36.9% (decrease)
  • 3rd - OM: 27.7%
  • 4th - Lille: 24.0%
  • 5th - OL: 25.1%
  • 6th - Strasbourg: 29.3%
  • 7th - Nice: 38.7%

The GMP is already a 100% champion according to AI.

Behind Paris, everything remains open. The weekend results redistributed the cards. The LOSC, winner of Auxerre, is one of the most unpredictable teams in the AI classification, while Nice and Lyon do not give up in the race. OM has its destiny in their hands. If it maintains its current level and avoids false steps, the Champions League is within reach.

However, the gap between the suitors remains minimal: 4 points separate the second from the seventh! With four remaining games, including two at the Vรฉlodrome, Roberto De Zerbi’s men will have to chain and show regularity to consolidate their position. Between European ambition and constant pressure, the end of the season will be exciting for Marseille fans.
