After a brief and mixed passage on the bench of Olympique Lyonnais during the months of October and November 2023, Fabio Grosso managed to bounce back and demonstrate its value in the world of football. His experience in Lyon, punctuated by an unfortunate incident during a meeting in Marseille where he suffered a physical assault that required fifteen stitches, did not leave a significant imprint in the history of the club, contrary to his passage as a player between 2007 and 2009. Arriving in a context of a sporting crisis, the Italian technician had strong ambitions after a notable success with Frosinone, where he had enabled the club to find Serie A as a second division champion.

Based on this experience and after a period of reflection, Fabio Grosso found a stimulating project, recalling the successes of the past: to propel a Serie B club to the elite of Italian football. Appointed coach of Sassuolo in June 2024, he led the club to a remarkable performance this season, characterized by an undeniable domination against its opponents. The team has already secured a five-day return to the elite, led by key players such as Domenico Berardi and Armand Laureienté.

Thanks to this exceptional performance and the strength of the team, Sassuolo is also a serious contender as champion. The future of Fabio Grosso, however, remains uncertain, allowing the possibility of a new start after this sacre, as had been the case two seasons before. The question now arises whether the former OL coach will retain his position or whether he will choose to meet new challenges.
