The Disciplinary Commission of the Professional Football League (LFP) has pronounced its verdict on several incidents in the recent Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 meetings. Sanctions were imposed against several players, including firm and suspended suspensions. Among the sanctioned players are Darlin YOONGWa (FC Lorient) and Alexis VOSSAH (Toulouse FC), each with two firm suspension games. Tyler MORTON (Olympique Lyonnais) and Otávio ATAIDE (Paris FC) received a firm suspension match and a suspended match. Joshua CASIMIR (AJ Auxerre) and Lucas HOGSBERG (RC Strasbourg Alsace) were also suspended for a full match.
Sanctions were also imposed on supporters in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches. On the 3rd day of Ligue 1, a match between Angers SCO and Stade Rennais FC was marked by the use and jetting of pyrotechnics by the fans of Angers SCO, resulting in a temporary interruption of the match and the closing for a match at the Coubertiin stand at the Raymond-Kopa stadium. For the 4th day of Ligue 2, a match between Montpellier Hérault SC and Amiens SC saw the closing for a suspended game of the Etang de Thau stand of the Mosson stadium due to oral expressions from Montpellierans fans.
At the same time, an incident involving Corentin Tolisso (Olympique Lyonnais) and Stéphanie Frappart, who was responsible for video assistance, sparked intense controversy. Following an arbitral decision at the Rennes-OL match, Tolisso posted a video on social media containing a humorous reference to the incident, sparking the anger of Lyon leaders and players. Stéphanie Frappart, who will be back in the next game between AS Monaco and FC Metz, justified his initial decision by stating that the foot of the Breton defender had simply slipped on Khalis Merah’s ankle.
