Olaigbe leaves Rennes for Turkey a missed opportunity

The Stade Rennais formalized the final transfer from Kazeem Olaigbe to the Trabzo NSPor, a surprising movement that took place only six months after its arrival from the Cercle Brugge. Initially scheduled for the summer, this departure was made possible by a decision of the coach to remove the young winger, despite his integration into the group at the recovery. After only ten appearances with the Breton club, including three as a holder and two decisive passes, the 22-year-old left the club for the Turkish SรผperLig, in a transaction estimated at 5 million euros.

This transfer is part of several planned departures at Stade Rennais, following the final loan of Warmed Omari in Hamburg. Olaigbe’s arrival in January was seen as a promising boost for the future, but his playing time was limited, which led to this transfer decision. The Belgian international hope could not fully flourish in the French club, and this new chapter represents an opportunity for him to advance in a more competitive championship.

The departure of Kazeem Olaigbe, albeit surprising, reflects the constant adjustments made by Stade Rennais in its composition. This transfer, which complements an already substantial list of departures, underlines the club’s willingness to restructure its workforce and focus on long-term projects. The financial operation represents an important source of revenue for the club, which will be able to finance new arrivals and strengthen its team for the future season.
