Serbian goaltender Djordje Petrovic made a sensation this season at the Racing Club in Strasbourg, attracting the admiration of his coach Liam Rosenior. Arriving at the last minute of the summer mercato, the young player was able to mark his territory and win as a key element of the Alsatian team. Rosenior did not lose praise for his protégé, whom he already considered to be a world-class guardian. But it is not only his performances on the ground that impress the coach, it is also Petrovic’s exemplary state of mind. “For Petro, showing faith in this project, in this club, in me and my staff is something that has been confirmed by his performances and his progress as guardian. He has no ego, and it’s rare in football. That’s what will enable him to continue to improve, because he wants to be coached and wants to progress,” Rosenior says.
The young Serb guard also managed to integrate perfectly into the Alsatian club, both professionally and personally. “The more I see him here, the more he smiles, the happier he is. It’s to his credit. He has a beautiful young family who has settled in the region, and he will have a remarkable career,” Rosenior rejoices. The coach hopes to continue working with Petrovic in the future, “whether here or elsewhere in five years’ time, I would like it to be next season.”
Thanks to his high performance and his impeccable attitude, Djordje Petrovic is a true cornerstone of the Racing Club in Strasbourg. And with such a state of mind and such a talent, the future seems promising for the young Serb guardian, whether it is in Alsatian or elsewhere.
