The Olympique de Marseille is actively looking for a right piston this summer, with Timothy Weah de la Juventus being the main target. The club also monitors Sacha Boey of Bayern Munich, although he is not convinced by a return to Istanbul despite Galatasaray’s interest. OM, under the leadership of Roberto De Zerbi, seeks to strengthen its staff with players able to bring speed and depth to the sides, and Weah’s versatile profile is particularly attractive for the sports project under reconstruction. Initial discussions are underway with the Juventus, and the player, trained at the PSG, is valued at 15 million euros.
At the same time, the Olympique de Marseille is also facing an increasing interest of the Juventus for Leonardo Balerdi, the Argentine central defender. Initially considered unobtainable, Balerdi seems more open to a start and would even have expressed his interest in the Turin project to President Pablo Longoria and sports director Medhi Benatia. The Juventus, in search of defensive reinforcements for the 2025-2026 season, sees Balerdi as a strong player, capable of reviving and equipped with a good reading of the game, which meets the tactical requirements of his coach.
The Juventus intensified its efforts to convince Balerdi to join the Serie A, and a formal offer could be submitted shortly. The Marseille management will then have to reconsider its position, as the player has been an essential part of the Olympian defence since last season. This situation marks a turning point in the Balerdi case, which seemed sealed a few days ago, and the Italian media seem to indicate an opening on the part of the Turin club.
