The Discipline Commission of the Professional Football League (LFP) issued its verdict on the recent incidents in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, at a meeting held this Wednesday. Several players were sanctioned by suspension, including Darlin YOONGWA (FC Lorient) and Alexis VOSSAH (Toulouse FC), each with two firm suspension games. Tyler MORTON (Olympique Lyonnais) and Otรกvio ATAIDE (Paris FC) each received a firm suspension match and a suspended match. In addition, Joshua CASIMIR (AJ Auxerre) and Lucas HOGSBERG (RC Strasbourg Alsace) were suspended for a full match. These sanctions concern events on the 3rd day of Ligue 1 between Angers SCO and Stade Rennais FC, where Angers fans used fireworks, resulting in a match interruption and the temporary closure of the Coubertiin stand.
In Ligue 2, sanctions were also imposed following the 4th day between Montpellier Hรฉrault SC and Amiens SC. Inappropriate behaviour on the part of the Montpellieran supporters led to the closure of the Thaul Etaing stand at the Mosson stadium for a suspended match. These decisions, made by the PSL, are effective immediately.
In addition, the Montpellier Hรฉrault SC announced the signing of Viktor Dzodic’s first professional contract, an 18-year-old goaltender. Son of Nenad Dzodic, Viktor started the season in the Montpellieran cages during the opening game against Red Star FC. This signature demonstrates the club’s confidence in the potential of this young talent.
