AS Monaco definitively sealed the departure of its young talent, Lucas Michal, by categorically refusing an offer from FC Nantes, despite the latter’s efforts to recruit it until the last minute of the mercato. The Nantes leaders regarded Michal as a major opportunity and had even considered a loan, but Monaco maintained its position not to wish his departure, which means that the young winger will remain in Monaco. This situation put an end to the hope of the recruit for the Nantes club.
In parallel, Didier Deschamps, the French team’s selector, approached the first meeting of Maghnes Akliouche, an offensive milieu of AS Monaco, at a press conference. The breeder stressed the importance for the new internationals to remain themselves, not be intimidated by their status, and to be natural and confident. Deschamps clearly expressed his confidence in Akliouche, saying that he had everything to join the group and that it was not because it was a first summons that he would have less access than a more experienced player.
Finally, Breel Embolo, after a period of uncertainty about his future, finally signed a four-year contract with Stade Rennais. Switzerland, which played 89 games with AS Monaco, leaves the club for about 15 million euros. Despite a knee injury that slowed him, Embolo is described as a very professional player and his transfer is considered a good sale for Monaco, given the short remaining duration of his contract.
