The ASM started its 2025/2026 season with a 3-1 win over the HAC, a game considered a logical and expected recovery. Despite a HAC team weakened by the loss of many key players, the ASM dominated the course of the game, although it had difficulties in concretizing its offensives against a less performing team than before. This victory marks a first step in a season when the offensive “diagonal”, reinforced and continuous, will be closely scrutinized against a potentially less raised competition.
Several players were particularly bright in this first game. D.Zakaria demonstrated its indispensable role in ensuring transitions, controlling its sector and accurately distributing the ball. E.Dier, described as an intelligent and experienced reinforcement, brought defensive strength and a valuable offensive presence, especially with a goal from the head. A.Golovin, although less flamboyant than usual, showed sparks of his technical talent and was involved in opening the score.
However, some aspects of the team’s performance raised questions. Biereth struggled to create opportunities and combine with his teammates, asking the question of his role in the coach’s strategy. L. Camara, though decisive on a corner stroke, posted a generally deficient performance, marked by a lack of precision in its passes. Young entrants, Vanderson and Ben Seghiir, showed promising facets, but Ben Seghiir also conceded costly mistakes, raising doubts about his ability to progress and the relevance of his retention on the team.
