Aubameya ng-Return OM-Salarial Conditions-A Compromise Required

Walid Acherchour, consultant for RMC Sport, expressed reservations about a possible return of Pierre-Emérik Aubameyang to the Olympique de Marseille, stressing that this option would be viable only under specific wage conditions. During the show “After Foot”, he expressed his opinion with caution, saying that a return could be a “good idea under very special conditions”. The central element of this condition is a significant reduction in wages compared to what Aubameyang is currently drilling in Saudi Arabia. Acherchour insists that a return to Marseilles would require a significant financial effort from the player, given the club’s current wage policy.

The consultant recalls that during his previous visit to Marseille, Aubameyang had received a monthly salary of 700,000 euros, an amount which is now difficult to match with OM’s financial resources. He believes that a salary of around 300 000 euros per month could be acceptable, provided that Aubameyang accepts a more secondary role, mainly at the bench and in European competitions such as the Champions League. This perspective implies that he will not play 50 full games during the season.

Despite these reservations, Walid Acherchour recognizes the undeniable qualities of the Gabonese attacker, stressing his ability to score wherever he has evolved. However, he reiterated the crucial importance of a wage agreement adapted to the current ambitions and financial constraints of the Olympique de Marseille. The opportunity for a return from Aubameyang therefore remains conditioned by a mutually acceptable compromise, where the player’s qualities are taken into account while ensuring the financial sustainability of the club.
