Donnarumma Leaves PSG for Manchester City Legendary Era End

Paris Saint-Germain officially announced the transfer of Gianluigi Donnarumma to Manchester City, ending a successful era for the club and the Italian goaltender. After a particularly successful 2024-2025 season, Donnarumma is committed to a final transfer with the English club. The PSG communiqué pays tribute to its five years at the club, highlighting the many titles won and its crucial role in the team’s sporting success. It is also recalled its individual impact, including its participation in 47 meetings in the Champions League, its decisive stops in key moments, and its major role in the club’s historic quadruple.

Gianluigi Donnarumma played 161 games during his four seasons under the Red & Blue colours, made 56 clean sheets and won ten trophies. His talent has been recognized on several occasions, with individual distinctions such as the title of best goaltender at the UNFP Awards in 2021-2022 and 2023-2024, as well as a selection in the championship’s standard team in those same seasons. The PSG expresses its gratitude to Donnarumma for her contribution to the club and wishes her the best for the rest of her career.

The transfer of Donnarumma to Manchester City, estimated at 30 million euros including bonuses, comes after difficult discussions about extending its contract with the PSG. This decision allowed the Parisian club to turn to new players, such as Lucas Chevalier. In England, Donnarumma will join Manchester City to replace Ederson, who joined a Turkish club. The Italian guard should sign a five-year contract, with an option for an additional year, and the PSG sent him a message of sincere thanks for everything he brought to the club.
