L’Olympique de Marseille is actively seeking reinforcements to strengthen its workforce for the 2025-2026 season. Current tracks include Loïc Badé, central defender of FC Seville, whose profile also attracts Tottenham and Villarreal. OM seems to have difficulties getting along with Seville, which demands a high price for the player. At the same time, the club entered into two transfers with Stade Rennais: Valentin Rongier and Quentin Merlin, two experienced players who fill the gaps left by several important starts. These arrivals demonstrate OM’s willingness to strengthen its midfield and left flank.
In parallel with these movements, OM continues its efforts to recruit Igor Paixão, a Brazilian winger of the Feyenoord Rotterdam. Although an overall amount of EUR 35 million has been mentioned, a final agreement has not yet been reached. Negotiations are under way and a delegation from Marseille is planned to intensify discussions. The arrival of Paixão would be a major investment for OM, aimed at strengthening its offensive sector under the direction of Roberto De Zerbi.
Finally, the OM team took part in a friendly match against Charleroi, which resulted in a 1-1 draw. Despite territorial domination, OM lacked offensive realism, especially in the first half. The introduction of the incumbents in the second period allowed equalization thanks to a goal of Mason Greenwood. This friendly match, although frustrating due to the final score, allowed the coach to test different team compositions for the coming season.
