The AS Monaco professional group resumed training about ten days ago. Following a first game of preparation yesterday against the Circle of Bruges, the club unveiled the list of 32 players invited for the internship which will take place in Birmingham, England, from 13 to 19 July. Coach Adi Hütter selected a staff including three new summer recruits: Eric Dier, Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati. The group’s composition includes goaltenders such as Philipp Köhn, Yann Lienard, Radoslaw Majewski and Jules Stawiecki, a defence composed of Eric Dier, Caio Henrique, Thilo Kehrer, Bradel Kiwa, Kassum Ouattara, Mohammed Salisu, Wilfried Singo, Jordan Teze and Vanderson, a midfielder with Maghnes Akliousche, Aladji Bamba, Eliesse Ben Seghir, Saimon Bouabré, Lamine Camara, Mamadou Coulibaly, Krépin Diatta, Edan Diop, Aleksandr Golovin, Takumi Minamino, Paul Pogba, and Denis Zakaria, and finally an attack with Folarin Balogun, Mika Biereth, Paris Brunner, Breel Embolo, Ansu Fati, George Ilenikhena and Lucas Michal.
During this internship period, the Monaco team will face two friendly meetings. The first was scheduled for July 16 against Coventry City, followed by a match against Nottingham Forest, who was promoted to the Premier League this season on July 19. These games will be used to prepare the ground for the new season. The absence of some players such as Magassa, Mawissa and Boadu was noted, causing speculation about a possible start for the latter.
These absences could indicate changes in AS Monaco’s workforce. The team is actively preparing for the upcoming season, and prep games are essential to assess players and refine the team’s strategy. The next few days will be crucial to observe the band’s dynamics and confirm the coach’s choices for next season. More information will be available on the official AS Monaco website.
