AS Monaco wins in Bruges despite a small number

The AS Monaco won its first summer preparation match against the Cercle Bruges (1-0) in La Turbie, despite a reduced number. The Monegasque team had to make considerable efforts to win, especially after having seen its strength reduced to ten players from half an hour of play. This friendly meeting was marked by the absence of three important new recruits: Ansu Fati, Paul Pogba and Eric Dier, which tested the depth of the ASM workforce.

The turn of the game occurred at half an hour of play with the expulsion of Valy Konaté, a defender loaned by Monaco, following a fault in the surface and a second yellow card. This expulsion granted a penalty to the Belgian team, but Eliesse Ben Seghiir missed the opportunity to realize this opportunity by being arrested by goaltender Maxime Delanghe. The Monegasque team had to show patience and tenacity to win.

Finally, it was Saïmon Bouabré who offered the victory to AS Monaco by placing the only goal of the game in the 79th minute. The aligned team included Yann Lienard as a goaltender, and a core of experienced players such as Denis Zakaria, captain, as well as players such as Breel Embolo and Mika Biereth. This victory, though modest, represents an important first step in preparing for the upcoming season for AS Monaco.
