The Montpellier HSC recently announced the transfer of Otmane Maaamma to Watford, an official movement on the club’s social networks on Friday. The 19-year-old winger is committed to the next four seasons, until June 2029, with the English club playing in Championship, the second English division. This start marks the end of the player’s career in his training club, which has just been relegated to Ligue 2.
During his two seasons at Montpellier HSC, Otmane Maaamma played a total of 14 games in Ligue 1. His first game as a professional player, on May 19, 2024, ended with a goal in a draw against RC Lens (2-2), bringing him into the top three of the youngest scorers in club history. This season, he participated in 12 Ligue 1 matches, scoring a goal and delivering a decisive pass.
Otmane Maaamma is also a Moroccan international hope, with 20 U20 national team selections since its first convocation in August 2023. His transfer to Watford is an important step in his career, offering him the opportunity to advance in a high-level championship and continue to grow as a player. This departure is therefore a recognition of his talent and potential, after a promising passage to Montpellier HSC.
