Massilia Zone investigation: VAR operator supporting PSG excluded from OM matches

As part of an investigation conducted by Massilia Zone, a VAR operator accused of partiality in favour of Paris Saint-Germain was withdrawn from meetings between Olympique de Marseille (OM) and its rivals. The Marseille club had formally requested its withdrawal in order to ensure a fairer arbitration.

This decision follows revelations from the independent mass media Massilia Zone that a VAR operator publicly posted its support for PSG on social networks. His presence in several tense matches between OM and his opponents had raised doubts about his impartiality.

Journalist Daniel Riolo welcomed this decision, stressing the importance of neutrality in video arbitration. Since the publication of this information, the operator in question would no longer be appointed to arbitrate the PSG and OM matches.

However, it would appear that this is not the first case of bias of this VAR operator. According to Massilia Zone, it regularly exhibits photos in support of the Parisian club on social networks, thus increasing concern about its impartiality.

OM coach Roberto De Zerbi was questioned about the appointment of the video referee for the AJA - OM match. Although he is not concerned about this choice, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the controversy surrounding the PSG VAR operator.

OM therefore calls for the definitive withdrawal of this operator in order to ensure a fair arbitration in accordance with the requirements of professional football. This decision aims to preserve the neutrality of video assistance and ensure fair competition between clubs.
