In the summer preparation phase, Stade Rennais began its friendships with a 1-1 draw against Stade Briochin. This first test, held at the Piverdière on 27 June, saw Habib Beye align a team still in the reconstruction phase, with the presence of players returning from their national selections and young talents. The team started the game with two widely renewed team compositions, demonstrating the willingness to integrate new players and test different combinations.
Meité opened the score for Stade Rennais in the 44th minute, scoring his first goal of the 2025-2026 season. However, Konan equalized for Stade Briochin in the 62nd minute, bringing the two teams back to parity. The match was also marked by the injury of Mikayil Faye, replaced in the second period. This meeting assessed the team’s potential and identified points to improve before the season began.

The team composition in the first half was composed of Alemdar, Bamba, Rouault, Ait Boudlal, Brassier, Gomez, Fofana, Santamaria, Salah, Meiité and Mukiele. In the second half, Gallon, Hateboeer, Wooh, Faye (replaced by Nagida), Olaigbe, James (replaced by Rieder), Truffert, Blas, Rosier, Yildirim and Kalimuendo were used.
