RC Lens seeking offensive reinforcements Abdallah Sima priority

Three weeks from the end of the mercato, RC Lens, following the acquisition of Florian Thauviin, continues its policy of displacing the workforce initiated since January. Several players are looking forward to a start, including Salis Abdul Samed and Angelo Fulgini, while Nidal Celik and Jérémy Agbonifo are expected to be loaned. Arrivals seem unlikely without previous departures, although coach Pierre Sage hopes to strengthen the team with a leading attacker and defensive midfielder.

Recently, an interest in Lucas Gurna-Douath from RB Salzburg had been mentioned, but the sports leadership of RC Lens would now have preferred Abdallah Sima, an attacker familiar with Ligue 1. This Senegalese international player is currently playing in Brighton and was loaned to Brest last season. According to Senegalese sources, it would be a priority target for the Lens club, able to evolve both on the wings and at the tip.

Although the interest in Abdallah Sima is real, it does not necessarily correspond to the search for a pure number 9 desired by Pierre Sage. However, its versatility could prove valuable, especially in a 3-4-3 game system where wingers are important, a position where Lens is currently lacking reinforcement. The club will therefore have to carefully assess whether Sima’s assets warrant recruitment despite this slight inconsistency with current tactical needs.
