The Eagle Football Group’s (EFG) financial report for the 2024/2025 season shows a significant decrease in revenues, with a projected deficit of €90 million compared to the previous year, totalling €263.8 million. This is mainly due to the drop in TV rights, despite an increase in revenues from ticketing and player sales. The EFG anticipates a very difficult financial situation for the coming season, stressing the need for long-term financial and operational stability. This dark forecast recalls the financial situation of clubs like Borordeaux, and highlights the importance for OL to ensure its own stability to avoid a similar fate.
Olympique Lyonnais (OL) is actively seeking to strengthen its strength, particularly in the position of goaltender, following the departure of Lucas Perri. According to Fabrice Hawkins, the club added DomiNik Greif, guardian of the RC Deportivo de Mallorca, to its list of potential recruiters. This friendly meeting between the two teams will allow OL recruiters to observe Greif’s performance closely. This is part of a policy of rebuilding the team, initiated after John Textor’s departure and Michele Kang’s assumption of office, and accompanied by a prudent recruitment strategy.
At the same time, OL should welcome Nicolas Tagliafico, Argentinian defender, from River Plate. Free of any contract since 1st July, Tagliafico has undertaken for two seasons, with an option for an additional season. This signature, facilitated by the player’s interest in the Lyon project and the involvement of the recruitment cell, is seen as an important reinforcement for the team, especially after the recent departures of other key players. The international experience of Tagliafico, comparable to that of Corentin Tolisso, will make it a potential leader in the Paulo Fonseca group.
