Crisis in French women's football: Aulas wants to speed up the process

The crisis not only struck the Olympique Lyonnais after its elimination in the semifinal of the Champions League, but also affected the French women’s football world. The times are difficult for women’s clubs and there is concern in the governing bodies. The Ligue fรฉminine de football professionnelle (LFFP) has taken steps with potential buyers and investment funds for a massive finish in the French championship. Some male professional clubs such as Le Havre, Reims or Montpellier want to save money by separating themselves from their female section.

The LFFP seeks to value the product, but this strategy does not seem to convince all players in the sector. Jean-Michel Aulas, President of the League, wants to take charge and speed up the process. He decided to invite the captains of the D1 and D2 clubs to the General Assembly of the League to be held this Monday. Wendie Renard should be there.

In addition, a delegation from Lyon travelled to Paris to attend the evening LFFP trophy ceremony. Several players from Olympique Lyonnais competed to win a prize, as did Joe Montemurro in the Best Coach category.
