Olympique Lyonnais Féminin aims to regain its status as European leader after three untitled seasons. To achieve this goal, the club’s management undertook a major renewal of its staff, including seven departures and the arrival of five new players, representing a total of six recruits. Although the latter recruit is not intended for immediate impact on European competition, it is part of a long-term development strategy.
The club recently announced the signing of Elida Kolbjørnsen for a period of three years. This young Norwegian player, who will be 17 on August 6, is a future-oriented recruitment. Already experienced at the professional level, she started her first professional contract in August 2023 with Stabæk, where she quickly proved herself in Norway’s first division, scoring even in her first game.
By joining OL, this Norwegian U17 international will not immediately join Jonatan Giraldez’s professional group. It will first evolve within the Academy, in order to continue its learning and adapt to the high level. This approach allows Olympique Lyonnais to build a solid workforce for the coming seasons by investing in the development of promising young talent.
