OL Nottingham Forest transfers uncertain due to change of direction

Following the departure of John Textor, replaced by Michele Kang, the future of OL transfers concerning Nottingham Forest remains uncertain. Negotiations for the arrival of Nottingham Forest players Matt Turner and Danilo could be compromised by the change of direction within the Lyon club. Textor had excellent relations with Evangelios Marinakis, president of Nottingham Forest, and the two men had frequently conducted player exchanges at prices considered surprising. However, the new management team, led by Michele Kang and Michael Gerlinger, may decide not to continue these discussions, given the current financial constraints of the club.

Michele Kang confirmed his full takeover of OL, dispelling any possibility of a return of influence for John Textor. She noted that the liquidity injection into the club has introduced new governance, without differences in leadership. Kang is now responsible for the Eagle Football Group and OL SA, with 100% control over both organizations. This claim comes after the failure of Textor’s first hearing in front of the DNCG, which had initially led to his exclusion in favour of Kang.

OL’s new management, with Kang and Gerlinger at its head, aims to ensure a more stable and prosperous future for the club. However, they will have to manage the financial constraints associated with payroll and transfer payments before they can consider new recruits. The objective is to implement the proposed transfers with Nottingham Forest while respecting the budgetary limits imposed by the DNCG. The situation therefore remains to be followed closely in the coming days, pending clarification of the possibility of such arrivals.
