The Olympique de Marseille is actively looking for reinforcements for its staff before the resumption of Ligue 1. The club explores several tracks, notably for the defensive sector where Jackson Tchatchoua, a 23-year-old Cameroonian side of the Hellas Verona, is very interested in OM. This versatile player, able to play on the right as well as on the left, has confirmed his talent in Serie A and could be financially affordable between 8 and 10 million euros, provided that OM makes sales. However, competition is fierce, with Everton, Wolverhampton and especially Galatasaray, which seems to be the most advanced with an estimated offer of between 8 and 9 million euros. OM must therefore speed up its negotiations to secure the services of Tchatchoua, who is interested in a new challenge.
Regarding the left sector, Quentin Merlin’s future is uncertain. The left side, which took part in Euro Espoirs 2025 with the Blues, has attracted the interest of several clubs, including Bournemouth, Borussia Mönchengladbach and potentially Stade Rennais. Although he has been a valued player at OM since the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi, his profile could be a solution for the Marseille club looking for cash. A discussion is planned soon between management and their entourage to determine the direction of their future. His departure could represent a financial opportunity for OM, given its market value and reasonable salary.
Finally, OM has a clear priority for mercato: to strengthen its offensive sector with the arrival of Igor Paixão, Brazilian left winger from Feyenoord. The 24-year-old, strong season after season, is particularly appreciated by Roberto De Zerbi for his versatility and ability to overflow. However, Feyenoord claims EUR 40 million for his departure, an amount considered too high by OM, which was recently forced to hold back on the arrival of Noa Lang in Naples. OM will therefore have to find a way to negotiate the price or explore other options to secure the services of Peaceão and meet De Zerbi’s ambitions.
