Christophe Dugarry welcomes the evolution of the OM game

Christophe Dugarry, a former French international and consultant for RMC Sport, shared his analysis on Olympique de Marseille in the program “Rothen se enflamme”. He praised the evolution of the game proposed by the Marseille players, especially during their last meeting at the Stade Vélodrome. If Dugarry remains cautious about the regularity of this dynamic, he did not hide his enthusiasm for the team’s recent performance.

Faced with the criticisms often addressed to OM this season for its lack of consistency and performance, Roberto De Zerbi’s last performance convinced Christophe Dugarry. “Finally an ambitious and creative team! It’s not all perfect. I’m not going to say that by playing like this, they’re going to win every game because that’s not true, that’s not possible. But still, what a joy to finally see OM play like this at the Vélodrome!”, he said.

The consultant sees this performance as a change of attitude and philosophy, with a clear desire to move forward. “They have been successful, but I have the impression that they have caused it,” he added, stressing a greater degree of commitment and intention than during the previous releases of the Phocéan club.

For Dugarry, this evolution is part of the club’s historical identity. “There have been good games before, but these are the characteristics of OM: it’s right to the goal, we attack, we move forward, we stop rubbing, there is a much more vertical game. Something different happened on this game,” he estimated.

This vision joins that of some of the Marseille fans, often waiting for a more direct and spectacular football, in accordance with the club’s DNA. If everything remains to be confirmed over time, the message is clear: OM seems to have regained a form of offensive coherence, expected for several months. This renewed energy and willingness to offer a more ambitious game could mark a turning point for the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether this dynamic will be maintained at the next Ligue 1 and European Cup deadlines.
