The League of Professional Football (LFP) organised a communication campaign on Day 27 of Ligue 1 to combat racism. This initiative was marked by an auction of dedicated football jerseys, which raised thousands of euros. The slogan “Unified football against racism” was highlighted during this operation.
The LFP announced that Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs would join forces for the sixth consecutive season as part of the Education Week against Racism and Anti-Semitism. Many actions were put in place this weekend, including an auction of signed jerseys on the MatchWornShirt platform.
On the LOSC side, the jerseys worn by Jonathan David, Benjamin André and Bafodé Diakité during the Northern Derby won against RC Lens were auctioned. Jonathan David’s jersey was sold for 852€, followed closely by Takumi Minamino’s (1221€). The jerseys of Benjamin André and Bafodé Diakité were sold for 450€ and 427€ respectively. Offensive players seem to be the most popular buyers.
In total, the auction raised €1729 for the LOSC. The funds raised were donated to three separate associations: the Inclusive Sport Foundation, LICRA and Foot Ensemble.
