Molenbeek misses the opportunity to go back to Belgian D1
The Brussels club owned by Eagle Football missed a great opportunity to go back to the Belgian first division this Sunday. The RWDM failed in its climb race after being beaten in the dams against Lokeren-Temse.
After a 2-0 loss in the all-round game, Molenbeek’s players managed to reverse the steam in the return game by leading 3-0 to five minutes from the end. However, two goals in four minutes, including one scored by Radja Nainggolan, ended the club’s hopes.
It will take at least one more year to see Molenbeek return to the Jupiler Pro League.
OL eliminated from Champions League: Wendie Renard disappointed but riconoscante
Olympique Lyonnais was eliminated from the Champions League this Sunday after a 1-4 defeat to Arsenal in the semifinal return. Lyon captain Wendie Renard, who had returned to the field after almost a month’s absence, regretted the lack of collective binder and disorderly dry-cleaning that had opened up breaches in which Arsenal had become engulfed.
Wendie Renard acknowledged that the opposing team deserved its place in the final. She also pointed out that there was a little missing on all sides of Lyon at this meeting.
The end of the season looks long for OL and Wendie Renard will have a key role in remobilizing the troops. Sorry about the disappointment, she didn’t want to find an excuse and acknowledged that the team was simply not on the level this Sunday night.
Finally, Wendie Renard reached the symbolic heading of 500 games with OL during this meeting, but she was more concerned about the defeat in the Champions League than with this personal performance.
